Detox green smoothie

Green smoothies are my go to breakfast. I love them so much and they make me feel amazing so I do my best to have one every single day. Not only they are easy to digest, they are the perfect way to add a huge quantity of raw greens into our diet without even noticing. They are life changing and the real medicine! When I started adding them into my diet to heal my disease and to detox my body from years of toxic pills, I immediately felt super vibrant and full of energy. Not to mention that my skin started glowing like never before.

This detox green smoothie is the one I make most of the days since that time, with a few variations. First of all, let me tell you that detoxification is not something we should do once or twice a year, we really should try to have detox practices daily to ensure we clean our body from toxicity present in our food and environment. Would you clean your house once or twice a year too? Of course not! Also detoxification not only cleans our body but also purifies our mind. When our body is clean, our mind becomes more clear and we become more aware of what we want to achieve in our life.

To make it you only need water, greens and fruit. Nothing too fancy at all! And of course a blender. I try to keep my smoothies at least 75% greens with a piece of fruit, lemon and ginger for a sweet twist. In this recipe I use pineapple, because I really think it makes the perfect combination, but you can swap it with banana if you want extra creaminess or with green apple if you are looking for a low sugar option. Follow the 75% rule (or less in the beginning!) and create your own combinations according with what you love more and with what is in season.

My detox green smoothie is packed with fiber, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and plant protein too! I promise you will love it and your body and mind will love it too! Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 250ml filtered water
  • 2 big handful spinach
  • 2 small cumbers (or half a big cucumber)
  • 1 celery stick
  • 2 slices of pineapple (I love to frieze it!)
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Small piece of ginger

Method:

Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Note:

Drink it slowly and chew it for better digestion! Also, always listen to your body! For some people this will be enough as a breakfast, for others not. So if you still feel hungry after drinking it wait a few minutes and have something else.
