If you are new to my website and to a natural and holistic way of living this is a great place to start. Everything I share here, on my online temple, is how I actually live my life. I choose to walk my talk EVERY SINGLE DAY. Here is my lifestyle and food philosophy for better health and wellbeing.
My lifestyle philosophy
BeYOUtiful – In its essence being natural it´s being yourself. Embrace your natural beauty, embrace all of you with your virtues and flaws. Never compare yourself with others because you are absolutely beautiful and have something unique to offer to the world. Stay true to who you are.
Practice self-love – Everything you do for yourself and your health needs to come from a place of love. Eat healthy and move your body because you love and respect your temple not because you hate it. You don´t need calorie counting, dieting or deprivation, you just need to love yourself more. Losing or gaining weight, healing your body, mind and soul are just consequences of true love for yourself.
Create healthy habits, not restrictions – Being natural is not a diet, it´s a lifestyle! Stop telling yourself you can´t eat this or that, it will only make you want it even more. Focus on nourishing your body with real foods that make you feel amazing not in cutting foods out. Start listening to your body and give it what he is asking for but in the most natural form. Want something sweat? Eat fruits or make a healthy desert! Want chips? Make your own in the oven with delicious spices. Diets don´t work and this is the only way to be healthy in the long run. It´s time to stop depriving yourself and start living.
Eat more plant foods – You don´t need to be 100% vegan or vegetarian to be healthy but you do need to start eating more natural and plant foods and these need to be the major part of your diet. I truly believe nature has everything to make us feel and look our best. Let vegetables and plant foods from the earth make up at least 75% of your plate. Enjoy delicious and colorful fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains, plant proteins and fats.
Drink more water – We all know that there are many health benefits of drinking water but we often forget to drink it. Our body is made up of 70% water and we need to hydrate it for optimal function. I encourage you to start drinking at least 2 liters of clean filtered water a day to feel and look your best. Start your day with lemon water and always carry a glass water bottle with you wherever you go.
Move your body – Our bodies were made to move and we spend too much time sited down. Find exercises that bring you joy and add movement to your daily life. Try a run or gentle walk in nature, a yoga or fitness class, swim in the ocean, dance with your friends, use stairs instead of lift, walk to your grocery shop or simply play with your kids. Whatever it is, just keep moving every single day.
Be mindful – Add mindfulness to your daily life if you want to reach your optimal health and wellbeing. We all need quiet time to connect deeper with ourselves and the universe. Start with 5/10 minutes every morning before you turn your phone on. Ground yourself into the present moment, meditate or simply focus on your breath. Not only you will feel more calm and relaxed but your day will unfold with more positivity.
De-stress your life – We all live super stressful lives and end up felling anxious, depressed and totally disconnected from ourselves. Find ways to de-stress your daily life with activities that you love and make you happy. Practice yoga, exercise, go for a massage, do a natural beauty face masks, spend time in nature or go out with your friends. Have fun and don´t take life too serious!
Sleep well – We can drink all the green juices in the world but if we don´t have a regular beauty sleep we won´t feel our best to live the life we truly desire. Sleep not only support our overall health, energy and immunity but rejuvenate all our body, balance our hormones and improve our mood. So make sure you prioritize sleep in your life and try to have at least 8 hours of sleep every night.
Surround yourself with people who light you up – Connect with people who inspire you, who are loving, caring and supportive. Do you know we are the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with? So find a community of like-minded people who spread love and positivity.
Be grateful – Be grateful for your life every single day, focus on what you have rather than what you don´t have. Every morning say to yourself or write down three things you are grateful for and start seeing the positive side in everything in your life. I promise you will have a much happier life and you will start to attract even more positivity into your life.
Connect with nature – Nature is really the best medicine. In the technological Era we live on, we are very disconnected from Mother Earth and we need to understand that we are natural beings that have to connect with nature rhythms and cycles to reach our optimal health and wellbeing. Try to go outside every single day, breath in fresh air, walk barefoot, hugs trees and get some vitamin D to feel the calming and healing effects of nature. If you live in a city try to open your window every single day and buy plants to your home.
Keep learning and growing – One of my favorite quotes is “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever” by Mahatma Gandhi. Read books, listen to podcast, watch movies and documentaries, travel, explore the world and keep evolving every day of your life.
Manifest your dream life – Living the life of your dreams and being the happiest and healthiest version of yourself is your birth right and it only depends on one single person, you! Make sure you envision what you want to manifest in your life and make it happen. Set your goals and check in with yourself every single day.
My food philosophy
- Eat whole and real foods from nature
- Eat mostly plants
- Eat the rainbow
- Add more greens into your diet
- Go organic whenever you can
- Start visiting your farmers market and eat local and seasonal
- Add boosters to your meals – superfoods, fermented foods, sprouts, seaweeds, spices and herbs
- Eat mindfully and chew your food well
- Eat until you are satisfied, not full
- Drink clean filtered water all day
- Remove processed foods, additives, preservatives and artificial ingredients from your diet – If you can´t pronounce it, don´t eat it
- Keep sugar, gluten and dairy to a minimum or avoid them completely
- Eat sustainably, both for you and for the world
- When it comes to animal protein – less quantity, more quality
- If you choose to eat animal products, make sure they were humanly and ethically raised and have been fed their natural diets
- Eat the occasional treat without feeling guilty. No more deprivation, life is about balance
- End the fad diet mentality, eat with pleasure
- Remember that we are all different. Always listen to your body and find what works for you!
