This is my favorite chocolate smoothie recipe ever. I was always a chocolate lover so when I decided to embrace a natural lifestyle I had to find a way to include it in my diet. And that was when I found raw cacao.
Unlike regular store bought chocolates that are made of cocoa (raw cacao that’s been roasted at high temperatures losing the overall nutritional value of it) plus sugar, milk, butter and lots of other ingredients that we can´t even pronounce, raw cacao is 100% pure, a wonderful source of antioxidants and rich in magnesium and iron, being connected with longevity for ages! Raw cacao has a bitter taste so you have to mix it with a natural sweetener to create your healthy smoothies, chocolates and deserts.
Here is my raw chocolate smoothie recipe that is perfect as an afternoon snack or a pre workout snack for an extra boost of energy and happiness. Hope you love it as much as I do!
- 1 cup almond milk (or any other plant based milk of choice)
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 tbsp raw cacao powder
- 1 medjool dates (or two if you like it extra sweet)
- 1 tsp maca powder
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp almond butter (optional)
Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
